We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. This fully remote position involves providing specialized instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse learning needs across Alaska. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering student growth and ensuring that all students have access to high-quality... education. Responsibilities: • Instruction: Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities. • IEP Development: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, setting goals and tracking progress. • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and other specialists to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. • Assessment: Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and abilities, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. • Technology Utilization: Utilize virtual teaching tools and platforms to engage students in a remote learning environment. • Compliance: Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines. • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs. • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). • Valid teaching certification in Special Education in the state of Alaska. • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a virtual or remote setting. • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency with virtual communication tools and technology. • Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
