Description We are looking to hire 1-2 full-time College Access Consultants who will be assigned to 1-2 high schools in the Greater Birmingham area (Jefferson County). Salary & Benefits Full-time Salary: (42,000 - )46,000 annually Part-time Salary: Proportional to the full-time rate Additional Benefits: Flexible time off aligned with school calendars, a $100 monthly gas stipend, and opportunities for growth in event planning, fundraising, and grant writing. Note: As a young organization, we currently do not offer additional benefits. Anticipated Start Date & Location Start Date: Late July to early August Location: Assigned to 1-2 high schools within Jefferson County. Your primary workplace will be at these schools, with possible weekly schedules split between schools if applicable. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree, excellent writing and editing skills, experience building trusting relationships with students, and a strong commitment to our mission and values. Preferred: Conversational Spanish, a great attitude, and a touch of extra flair. Position Overview We are seeking a College Access Consultant to provide personalized college counseling support to high school seniors using our LEADER Model (Lists, Essays, Applications, Decisions, Earn(est), Resilient). Responsibilities include helping students with college options, application essays, financial aid, and making informed college choices. You will also manage data, track progress, and support students with various aspects of the college application process. Primary Responsibilities Direct Student Support (85%): Offer one-on-one guidance, assist with college lists, application essays, and financial aid. Support students through their entire college application journey, both in-person and remotely as needed. Caseload & Data Management (10%): Maintain communication with students, track meetings and data, collaborate with high school staff, and prepare student profiles for site visits. Secondary Responsibilities Program Support (5%): Participate in program events, assist with grant searching and writing, and represent our organization positively in the community.
