Position: Grant Project Specialist Location: Cranston, RI (Onsite twice a month ... General Description: We are seeking a dedicated Grant Project Specialist to assess the capacity of the Rhode Island health care sector to serve newcomer populations. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering and analyzing data to inform health care services for individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island. Key Responsibilities: Develop an assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of health care providers to deliver treatment to newcomer populations, defined as individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island with various immigration statuses (e.g., Refugees, Temporary Protected Status, Humanitarian Parolees, Asylees, Asylum Seekers, and those without status). Collaborate with the team updating the states health care inventory to extract relevant data for the Health Systems Capacity Project. Distribute the assessment tool to health care providers in Rhode Island and collect returned data. Duties Include: Conduct research on comparable assessment approaches, and consult with experts in treating newcomers to develop an effective capacity assessment tool. Identify and select a digital database platform for collecting and analyzing data from health care providers. Utilize the assessment tool to evaluate as many health care providers as possible through July 2025. Meet regularly with Department of Human Services (DHS) staff to report on progress and strategize next steps. Analyze collected data to draft a document outlining strengths and gaps within the Rhode Island health care landscape. Qualifications: Graduate-level studies in a community health care field. Understanding of the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities. Research experience and proficiency in utilizing research databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
