About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide emotional and academic support to elementary school students (K-3) with emotional and behavioral needs. This role also includes occasional support for a small number of middle school students. As part of our team, you’ll collaborate with school staff to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and foster a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with emotional and behavioral challenges. • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families. • Provide emotional support to students, helping them build coping and social skills. • Engage and inspire students in a positive, structured classroom setting. • Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and school personnel. Qualifications: • Certification: Valid Maine Teacher Certificate with a 282 K-8 Endorsement (conditional or provisional certifications will be considered). • Experience: Proven expertise in emotional support and working with students who have behavioral needs. • Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
