About the position The Senior Payroll and Personnel Clerk plays a crucial role within the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, overseeing payroll and personnel transactions. This position is responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees, managing payroll calculations, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of personnel data. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle complex payroll issues and provide support to employees regarding their payroll inquiries. Responsibilities Oversee payroll and personnel transactions for the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. , Calculate, review, verify, and post complex payroll and timekeeping information. , Input payroll, timekeeping, and personnel data into automated systems. , Generate and review automated reports related to payroll and personnel transactions. , Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and discrepancies. , Prepare and maintain accurate records of payroll/personnel transactions. , Conduct onboarding and offboarding sessions for employees. , Analyze and interpret computer output reports to resolve payroll problems. Requirements Two years of verifiable experience preparing, calculating, and maintaining payroll and/or personnel records. , One year of experience preparing, calculating, and maintaining payroll and/or personnel records AND completion of 30 semester/45 quarter units from an accredited institution with a minimum of 12 semester/18 quarter units in business administration. , One year of experience preparing, calculating, and maintaining payroll and/or personnel records AND possession of a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certificate. Nice-to-haves One year of verifiable experience conducting onboarding and/or offboarding sessions. , One year of verifiable experience providing consultation on wage supplementation options for parental leave. , Experience processing payroll within the City and County of San Francisco.
