Job Title: Remote Certified Medical Coder and Biller Location: Dallas, TX (Remote... Compensation: $23.50 per hour (Temp to Hire) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (CST) We invite you to join our esteemed remote team as a Certified Medical Coder and Biller. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision and thoroughness of patient claims, while strictly adhering to industry regulations. If you possess a meticulous eye for detail and a dedication to enhancing healthcare operations, we would be delighted to receive your application. Key Responsibilities • Review and validate patient claims to ensure accuracy and completeness, while acquiring any necessary missing payer information. • Assign and sequence medical codes accurately in accordance with government and insurance regulations. • Guarantee compliance with medical coding guidelines and internal policies. • Verify the accuracy of patients’ charts and medical records. • Work in collaboration with team members to clarify any ambiguous information. • Gather physician-reported data from diverse sources to compile monthly reports. • Implement procedural enhancements and strategies to ensure accurate results and improve operational efficiency. • Assess and identify potential instances of medical malpractice by reviewing medical procedures and diagnoses that may relate to reported negligence. Required Skills • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT coding (including Category II and/or E/M coding). • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., eCW, EPIC). • Competence in MS Office applications. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong team collaboration skills complemented by a high degree of emotional intelligence. • Ability to make informed decisions that align with business objectives. Qualifications • Education: Associate degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field is preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a primary care clinic setting is preferred. • Certification: Must hold valid Certified Medical Coder credentials from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, CCS-P).
