Program Description Code Your Dreams is offering a free and stipend-based Summer \"App Development for Good\" program for high school students. Students will research, design, build, and brand a functional app using MIT App Inventor. This virtual summer program runs for 6 weeks and for 4 days per week tentatively starting June 23rd with the opportunity to continue teaching with Code Your Dreams after the program. All students are located in Chicago (IL) but all classes will be taking place virtually. Summary of Position We are hiring 2 part-time instructors to facilitate. Salary is commensurate with experience and is determined by After School Matters. Duties and Responsibilities · Become familiar with MIT App Inventor · Implement Code Your Dreams Curriculum for the program duration. This includes modifying for your program and developing resources where necessary. Curriculum and slides are all included. · Supervise students · Communicate between students, guest speakers and Code Your Dream staff Qualifications We are looking for instructors with the following qualifications: · Experience working with youth; High School students preferred · Basic knowledge of coding, computer science principles, and/or UX design. We use MIT App Inventor platform to build the applications, which uses block-based coding. · Organized and proactive nature · Professional communication skills Apply Job!
