About the position The Commercial Insurance Underwriter - Public Auto position at CRC Insurance Services, Inc. involves underwriting new and renewal business, approving policy changes, and providing leadership to a production/underwriting team. The role requires maintaining high-quality professional service to agents and carrier partners while ensuring compliance with company guidelines and procedures. Responsibilities • Underwrite new and renewal business. , • Meet or exceed production goals as assigned by manager. , • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients. , • Communicate properly and timely with all producers regarding submissions and decisions for new or renewal business. , • Approve and disapprove endorsement requests according to internal and Company guidelines. , • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with the firm's policies and procedures. , • Review and handle policy servicing requests appropriately. , • Review inspection reports and compare to the conditions that were represented at the time of binding and take appropriate actions. , • Meet or exceed file documentation standards and comply with underwriting authority level standards. , • Maintain necessary licenses to produce business. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation. , • Three years of experience in production and marketing of new accounts. , • Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance. , • Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance. , • Knowledge of the risk exposures associated with clients' needs. , • Recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry. , • Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating. , • Ability to use company automation. , • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with agencies. , • Provide necessary instruction to underwriting support staff. , • Exercise discretion in making decisions. , • Team playing skills. , • Good written and verbal skills. , • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
